Beacon by Barebones Living | Bronze Rechargeable Outdoor Lantern

The Beacon is a GREAT, very small, simple lantern! It uses the same batteries as Goal Zero Products (A dual polarity 18650 battery) and it charges in a snap!! Battery can be changed and extras can be purchased!! The USB cable is built in which makes it very simple to charge anywhere! No need or no worries about forgetting your cable or even bringing it with you. Quality is outstanding and this sucker is VERY BRIGHT!!! I would recommend this to anyone needing a simple light outdoors!!

Tips
1.) Remember, this doesn’t take NORMAL 18650 batteries.. It takes the Goal Zero version that is dual polarity! Search Goal Zero 18650 to find them

CHILL GORILLA OUTDOOR BEACH & PICNIC BLANKET. Huge 9′ x 10′. Fits 7 adults. Ideal for Travel, Hiking, Festivals. Soft Fast Drying Ripstop Nylon. 5 Weightable Pockets, + 4 Anchor Loops & Stakes

Short Review (Summary):  I want to first bring attention to the size of this.. The outdoor photos DO NOT do it justice!  To help with a size comparison I have placed this on top of my Extra Long Queen Size bed…  Yes IT IS MUCH MUCH BIGGER!  9X10 is actually larger than some bedrooms!!  Quality is AMAZING and this has been designed VERY WELL!

USE:  I purchased a new car last week and it is a crossover so I can’t “hide” all my junk in the trunk!  I needed a “smaller” tarp/blanket that could be hidden in the storage compartment in the back..  This blanket fits the bill perfectly while remaining the same size as the tarp I used to carry!

Having a tarp of some kind in your car saves the day all the time! At the park?  Going to a local sports event?  Camping?  Going to the beach?  I don’t know how many times I used to bring out my old tarp to keep folks off the ground! Keeps the dirt and grass off!  This new blanket will fit the bill perfectly and do the same thing!

Pros
1.) Includes Stakes and Stake Loops – Great for windy day at the park!

2.) Includes “Sand” pockets – At the beach feel the pockets with sand and you are good to go!

3.) HUGE – 90 SQ FT, or 9X10, or the size of a lot of bedrooms!! BIG!

4.) Very HIGH QUALITY and durable material

5.) Tested on damp ground and I stayed dry!  This is not waterproof but it does dry quickly and if the ground is just damp you will probably be ok..  If its wet or puddled, you might get a little wet but that’s the tradeoff for size..  I used at the park yesterday, very muddy but my butt was dry

6.) Cleans easily

7.) Machine Washable – I purchased 3 Chill Gorilla products this week but it has been raining all week so very hard to have fun with them.. With that being said it was fairly muddy when I used this at the park yesterday..  Took it home, tossed in the washer and WOW Cleaned right up! Looks BRAND NEW again

8.) Packs small

Overall: Excellent blanket!  Size matters! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS

CHILL GORILLA GEAR SLEEVES – SNAKESKIN. Instant Stuff Sack For Your Hammock, Rain Fly, or Tarp. 173" Total. Tube Packs or Unpacks Your Gear In Seconds. [Essential Camping and Survival Gear] GREY

Short Review (Summary):  I haven’t been able to use these in the field yet (We have had MAJOR RAIN everyday).. With that being said, these are STILL VERY AWESOME!! I got to test them inside and play with them which I always do before I take any gear camping!! I would like to draw attention to the size of these, They are larger than MOST, if NOT ALL sleeves on the market which help with a couple things.. If you have a bug net or fly, one or the other MAYBE EVEN BOTH (Depending on the size of your gear) will fit in these sleeves! Basically, they are big enough for more than a hammock!
So, what is a sleeve?  Basically its a storage or protection item that helps you setup and protect your hammock!  Helping you keep it off the ground, helping you keep everything from getting tangled, and so on..  It will also allow it to be stored as one single item!  This keeps your hammock gear together and it is ready to go when you are!!

Pros
1.) Quality – I have NEVER had an issue with Chill Gorilla Gear!! You can buy their gear and feel confident that it will last!  Just like ENO and all the big brands out there, Chill Gorilla is made just as good if not better!!  You only want quality on the trail! WHY?  Have you ever had gear fail 20 or 30 miles into the Appalachian Trail or any other long hike?  I have, and it is not fun!! Quality counts! It can save your life and protect you.  Chill Gorilla is one of the brands that I have no issues tossing in a survival pack or taking on LONG (Sometimes MONTH LONG) hikes!

2.) Easier Setup – If done correctly, you can setup your gear MUCH quicker with these!

3.) Provides Storage Protection

4.) Waterproof – Will keep your hammock dry while you’re out an about, away from the campsite!! Just keep in mind, this is waterproof so DON’T STORE A WET hammock or fly in it!!

5.) Longer Than Hennessey Snakeskins!  Hennessey makes a good product, but I have never been a fan of their All-In-One design..  I only owned my Hennessey for about a month or so before trading it off.. I did keep the snakeskins though! BUT These Chill Gorilla will replace them because of two reasons! 1.) Combined they are longer! MUCH LONGER and 2.) They are also large enough to hold more than one hammock such as 2 hammocks, rainfly and hammock, or whatever!!

6.) Excellent Value – Chill Gorilla might not beat everyone’s price BUT THEY DO have the best price for TOP QUALITY gear!!  If you find something that is cheaper, you better believe their are probably quality compromises on those items!

7.) Should fit ANY BRAND From ENO, to generics!  This is another reason their size is so awesome!

Overall:  These are great and I would highly recommend them to anyone who owns a hammock or does a lot of hammock camping!  You can buy these and confidently know they will last while you are out and about using them!! You will know they can last a lifetime!! You will know they can protect your gear GREAT!!

CHILL GORILLA 10 PACK TENT STAKES – Heavy Duty Lightweight Strong Aluminum Alloy Pegs for Camping, Rain Tarps, Hiking, Backpacking. [Essential Camping and Survival Gear] RED

For one of my first reviews back, I will start with a simple but VERY NICE ITEM from a BRAND I LOVE!  One that I wish I had with me at Scout Jamboree! (They were delivered while I was away so I didn’t have them at Jamboree)

Badass tent stakes! Strong, lightweight, and work well for tarps, tents, blankets, and more! Grat addition to the chill gorilla line and great for use with other brand products as well! I highly recommend these

NEXGADGET Powerhouse 210Wh /42000mAh Laptop Power Bank, Portable Outlet Lithium-ion Power Supply for Camping Emergency Backup with DC, AC & USB Output

210WH (Watt Hours) is a lot of Energy packed into a small device such as this.. Think of 210WH as being able to power 2 100Watt light bulbs for a little over and hour each.. That’s a lot of energy considering most TVs, Laptops, Tables, and other devices are well under 30Watts and most under 15..

For example, this SHOULD be power my 28Watt TV for nearly 8 hours if all goes well! (Keep in mind, the powerhouse itself does require some power to operate it’s fans, sensors, and other parts). With that being said, I only expect to get 6 – 7 hours using my TV with this..

Here are my actual results

1.) TV – I got a little over 6 hours using my TV with this.. Pretty good eh?

2.) Mobile Phone – I got over 8 charges and still had power left, a lot of power.. I also charged one tablet during this time.

3.) Laptop – 3 Full Charges

Pros
1.) Small Size – This is the smallest form factor for this capacity I have seen

2.) Silent operation

3.) Works Very Well

4.) Includes carry case

5.) Charges virtually anything

6.) Powers virtually anything under 100Watts

Cons
1.) TSA – This is over the 100WH TSA rule meaning it shouldn’t and probably won’t be allowed on a plane

Overall: Excellent Device, so far I am very happy

Solar Charger RAVPower 24W Solar Panel with Triple USB Ports Waterproof Foldable for Smartphones Tablets and Camping Travel

Short Review: Wonderful Solar CHARGER that will quickly charge 3 devices at once.. I quickly charged 3 battery banks with this charger today and within a few hours all where 100% charged.. One of the battery banks is a Goal Zero Venture 30 which is a 7800mAH battery bank. Another is the Griffin Outdoor 10,000mAH battery bank and the smaller one is just an inexpensive 2500mAH bank.. On a sunny day in TN, this charger had no issues fully charging all the banks AT THE SAME TIME in under 5 hours.

Tips: Before I get into the rest of the review, let me share a few “Solar” “Tips” with you
1.) While you can charge your devices such as phones and tablets from the solar panel itself, I recommend charging power storage devices like I did in the photos.. Two reasons for this.. Depending on external factors, this charger might not always offer enough power to charge your high usage device.. And second, its not good for your phones to stay in the sun all day

2.) Remember, weather (Even on sunny days), time of day, location, and other factors will affect output wattage.. I always recommend that a buyer only expect a charger to charge with ON AVERAGE half its capacity.. So with this charger, I expect it to average 12 watts on good days. I have received as much as 18 watts from this charger but it does only average 12 watts but that is standard!

Pros:
1.) Very HIGH output! – I average at least 12 watts out of this charger but have hit as many as 18 watts.. This is fine and is actually EXCELLENT from a charger of this size! Don’t expect 24Ws all the time, it will never happen even with $1,000 chargers

2.) Wonderful BUILD Quality

3.) 3 USB ports – Most of these chargers on the market only have 2 ports

4.) RACPower offers excellent support

5.) The pouch that houses the USB ports seems to be waterproof – It has a DWP coating on the inside!! Excellent

6.) Simple to use

Overall: Great charger!! I love it and highly recommend it!

GOAL ZERO NOMAD 100 Solar Panel

I really enjoy this panel! Very durable and wonderful output

Example: One day I was cleaning my panel inside.. I noticed the “power light” was on.. I measured it’s output and I was receiving 13 Watts inside my apartment from the sun shining through the windows! Outside on a good day I average about 45 – 50watts and it has peaked at 62 Watts.

Tips: Remember, a 100watt solar panel will probably never hit 100watts! Atmosphere, weather conditions, time of day, and even the length of your cord all affect the output of a panel.. a good panel, you can expect about 50% of it’s output on average.

Pros
1.) Durable!
2.) Works well with Goal Zero Yetis
3.) Excellent Output
4.) Long cable (about 6ft)
5.) Extension Cables available (keep in mind, the Goal Zero brand cables lose about 1% output per ft)

Cons
1.) Price – However, I own several 80 – 100 Watt panels and the Goal Zero is built better than any of them! Plus, it is full of technology and great American support.. A lot of my other panels have Chinese support and while there is nothing wrong with that, I simply can’t pick up a phone and call.. With Goal Zero you can

Overall: Great Panel, I highly recommend it

Tips
1.) This is designed to charge battery generators or other power packs.. Works much better if you do! I can charge my Yeti 150 fully in about 4 hours with this
