Kirby Star Allies – Nintendo Switch

Time for a video game review!

Kirby games are simple and relaxing.. With beautiful levels, nice music, and a colorful atmosphere.. This game has all that plus some! While yes, it seems easy at times (if you don’t add as many allies it’s much harder) I still found it fun.. My wife and I had a better time with just us and no CPU players.. With us and two CPU players, we had earned over 29 extra lives in the first world! Second world was just as easy so we stopped making allies and played as just us.. it got much harder then..

Another thing to point out is the similar world’s folks keep complaining about.. Kirby, like Sonic, and like platforming Mario’s to an extent, always recyle the world’s.. it’s what makes them special!! While the worlds and zones are the same, Nintendo always does a great job making them unique game after game!

Where this game shines is couch multiplayer!! While the switch has been advertised as a multiplayer machine, the star games for the switch aren’t really multiplayer!! Even Mario had a stripped down multiplayer (Cappy isn’t a full character on two player). This game, 4 folks can play at a time and can control their characters.. They can attack, they can defend, they have full control just like player one.. they just can’t get to far away from player one or they will warp back to Kirby (player 1)

So while this game isn’t the caliber of Mario or Breath of the Wild, it’s a good game.. it’s a fun game.. it’s designed to be a multiplayer game and if played that way, it’s a knockout!

The last thing I want to point out is the reviews complaining about the price.. This is a full game, it feels like a full game.. Mario platfromers have never been long, sonic games have never been long.. what makes platform games special is the hidden items in each world!! If you compare the game to Mario or Breath of the Wild, you might be let down by the price.. but just because those games have so much content, doesn’t mean other games need to be offered for less money. While I wish they were less expensive, there are a ton of games out that cost just this much, with much less content. Games that were received very highly!

I think if you come into this game with the expectation that it’s Kirby.. they didn’t try to do anything special with it, didn’t try to change the formula, you will love this game.. That’s what Nintendo has done here, made a Kirby game with the same basic Kirby formula we all love!

A+ game here! I highly recommend it.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – Nintendo Switch

So far so good! No bugs, no crashes and no issues whatsoever!!¬† I have yet to receive a crash screen on this game and have several hours on it so far…

While this isn’t the fully remastered version¬† I had for my PS4, it’s still beautiful on both docked and handheld modes.. the graphics are still improved over the original and land in between that and the remastered versions.. it controls very well and seems to perform better than the new remastered versions.. I love the Zelda themed clothing and weapons which just adds a very nice touch to this game..

Yes this is Skyrim, it’s been out for years but now can be played on the go without dragging a laptop with you. It holds up well to the newer versions that are out and about as well.. another great port by Bethesda

Update:  Now over 8 hours into the game and have had 0 crashes! The only bugs I have experienced are bugs that have been in Skyrim for YEARS

Ittle Dew 2+ – Nintendo Switch

Another great package from Nicalis! I loved ittle Dew on my mobile phone and ittle Dew 2 feels much more like a full game than the first one! And the first one was pretty sweet and “full”. Nicalis includes goodies like they do all their games, for example book and map. Collecting Nicalis games is a new thing for me! As for gameplay, the game is very cheerful! It’s bright and colorful! Awesome animations and music! If you are a fan of Zelda, this is a game for you! The puzzles are both challenging and fun.. the game gets harder as you progress and that’s a good thing! Overall though, the game is relaxing and a great game for mobile like the switch. I am enjoying this in between Mario and Doom and think others will as well.

Sonic Forces Bonus Edition – Nintendo Switch

I agree with the reviews on Amazon and find this a fun game!! Please ignore reviews on professional review sites! A lot of review sites gave this a bad review.. While it is a little heavy on the story, the game is great.. Very modern graphics, fun gameplay, and to me, it feels like old Sonic.. it brought back memories of playing old Sonic. Their is a lot of speed and very tight controls.. classic sonic!! I was afraid when I came to write this review, that I would be met with mostly negative reviews but was very happy to see that everyone seems to agree and all seems very positive.. Don’t go by what other sites say about this game, it is great and it is fun! While the game in general is short, most should be able to beat it in under 5 hours, Sega has made up for that by not charging what other game makers charge for new games.. I feel the game is priced very fairly and worth the price! Sega is very ambitious putting this game out shortly after Mario, right before Doom for the switch comes out, and in the mix of so many great games hitting not on the Switch but other consoles.. I hope this game doesn’t get lost in the mix and hope people enjoy it as much as I am. Every Sonic fan should give this a try.. it really is a fun game that controls very well

NBA 2k18 Nintendo Switch!

Great Graphics (both on and off the court), but I do agree that some of the cut scenes seem out of sync.. This seems like an issue that can be patched.. I am surprised how well 2K was able to push the graphics on this! For a handheld the graphics are next gen. On TV mode, the graphics are still good and somewhere in between last gen and this gen so by no means are they bad!! Controls seem to be fine and the game overall is fun!

I purchased this for portable play and I am impressed with it! I have more time to play portable and want to support third parties on the Switch hoping for more GREAT 3rd party games to go along with Nintendo. I want third party games for on the go!

Cons
1.) File Size – Around 30GBs total. 25ish on the SD card and 5 on system memory.. To me this isn’t an issue
2.) Some cut scenes seem out of sync but nothing major

Pros
1.) Graphics – For a portable, they are AMAZING!! For TV mode they are in between last gen and this gen (in between Xbox 360 and Xbox 1 or PS3 and PS4) so still pretty good! I wasn’t expecting PS4 graphics out of this and am very happy with what I received

2.) Fun

3.) Career Mode is GREAT – I am not much of a sports fan but wanted to support this game and I am having a blast in career mode!! Nice story, fun gameplay, and easy to pickup and learn

4.) PORTABLE – I have more time to play games on the go.. Portable is the way to go for me!

Overall: I am happy with this game and it works very well for what I wanted.. A portable game that is fun!

Update: After 10 hours in the game I am very happy still!! Career mode rocks, games are GREAT, multiplayer works wonderfully!! No issues with players disappearing or anything!

Tip: My Bonus was emailed to me after my purchase from Amazon.. You redeem your bonus in game and not in the Nintendo shop!

BittBoy Portable Video Game Handheld Device | Retro Games Included

Short Review (Summary): Great little NES emulation device and the few games you will play are great.. Screen is good and it serves its purpose.. If this was only twenty or so dollars it would be a five star device. BittBoy is lucky I am only knocking 1 star bc BittBoy is not completely truthful when it comes to describing this product. However, the product is fun, it works, and I am enjoying it so I am giving it 4 stars.. With that being said it brings me to my cons first

Cons
1.) Not all games are in English – Description says ALL Games are in English but I have found several that aren’t.

2.) Mine arrived with scratched screen.. I have seen this in several other reviews

3.) I would bet to say around 75 percent of the games are homebrew or games you would never play..

4.) Price – It’s way overpriced!! Quality Control isn’t there, my faceplate is off-center.. Scratches on the screen.. I would be happy if this was $20 but its not

Pros
1.) Rechargeable – No need to carry around batteries!

2.) 300 Games – Mine IS THE 300 game version but like my cons, over 75% will never be played

3.) Great SCREEN (Aside from the scratches)

4.) Volume is decent

5.) Buttons actually feel GREAT in hand!!

6.) Decent battery life

7.) Includes popular Marios, Chip N Dale, Contra, Excitebike and more

8.) Includes fake marios, some which I have found decently fun

9.) Overall it is fun!! I am enjoying my time playing it

10.) Good size! I know some folks complain its small but I like the size

Tips
1.) Cant save games but most NES games couldn’t be saved anyways! Just something to remember

2.) Use a Credit Card to buy and not PayPal.. As you can see from my review and other reviews, bittboy isn’t 100% honest.. At one time they were shipping units with under 200 games on them. With a credit card you can do a chargeback if they don’t honor their side of the purchase

Overall: I am hesitant to give this 4 stars but I do enjoy playing it and I am having fun with it.. Meaning to me, it is a 4 star product.. Bittboy has a great idea and a great start on something here but they need to step up their game and be a little more transparent about their device. All in all though, I know I am harsh on this device but overall it is fun and does emulate very well.
