CHILL GORILLA 10′ SWALLOWTAIL RAIN FLY TENT TARP Waterproof Camping Shelter. Lightweight RIPSTOP NYLON & Not Cheap Polyester. Stakes Included. Survival Gear. Backpacking Hammock & ENO Accessory. BLUE

Short Review (Summary): Another GREAT Chill Gorilla Product here!!  They have made some GREAT improvements over some of their other tarps and have managed to keep the price down!!  This tarp includes everything you need to get out and about!  Who hates buying new gear only to find out that you have to buy something else to make it work?  I know I DO!!!!  Not with Chill Gorilla!  It includes everything you need to get out and into your hammock!

Pros
1.) Waterproof – Why make a tarp that’s not waterproof?  Exactly BUT some companies make some that aren’t or maybe they just make some that suck.. Not Chill Gorilla, theirs rocks and is fully 100% waterproof!

2.) Curved Edges –  During my test I did find that the curved edges helped keep me cool! Although, it has been cold around here, today we did have a 70 degree sunny day!! The curved edges allowed the breeze to blow keeping me cool while the sun was beating down on top!

3.) Reinforced Corners – These things blow away the competition!!!  Very strong, no worries about them failing!! Can you believe I had a name brand tarp fail! Shame on you ENO (Eagles Nest Outfitters) your tarp cost over $100 and failed due to weak corners!!

4.) Plenty of tie down points!!

5.) Weighs under 1.5 pounds! Pretty good right?  Great for backpacking!

6.) Packs small!! Smaller than my HydroFlask! (See photos below)

7.) Will work with ANY HAMMOCK.  ENO, Grand Trunk, Yukon, Bear Butt, other brands?  No worries!  This will work with ANY HAMMOCK!!

Overall:  Great tarp and like all Chill Gorilla Products, I highly recommend this!! I only recommend camping gear I use myself and this is that gear!  You never want gear to fail on you while out and about.. I trust Chill Gorilla 100% of the time and know it wont leave me stranded!

CHILL GORILLA FORTRESS HAMMOCK RAIN FLY WITH 4 DOORS. Tent Tarp Waterproof Camping Shelter. ULTRALIGHT SILNYLON. Easy to setup. Essential Survival Gear. Stakes Included. Green

Short Review (Summary): This is the best Ultralight Fly for hammocks on the market!! Can even be used for survival and without hammocks!! Quality seems better than my Warbonnet Fly and the Chill Gorilla comes in much lighter!

Test: I used this weekend in the great Smokies! Beautiful weekend BUT it did rain Saturday night! Did I get wet nope! Not even a drop!

Pics Coming soon (Hopefully) – I am traveling for work and can’t upload them at the moment.

Key Points
1.) Has doors on both sides
2.) Bigger than Warbonnet and other brands that have similar flies

Pros
1.) Doors – I remember a campout about 9 years ago where it rained cats and dogs! I was in my ENO Hammock and was using a Hennessy Rain Fly with it.. The rainfly was large but by the end of the night I was wet.. I had the fly stretched down to the ground on the sides but the wind still managed to blow rain in on the ends… After that I knew I needed a fly with doors! I tried several brands and while most actually performed well, most were heavy and expensive! I knew one thing though, I needed doors!

2.) Price – A hundred bucks sounds like a lot but for the quality, the size, and the support Chill Gorilla gives, $100 is an excellent deal!! My other flies, such as Warbonnet, cost me a lot more and really, they aren’t any better.

3.) Size – This thing is huge! Much longer than any others I own, which is the main reason I purchased.. as I said in my story above, I hate rain coming in on the ends and that doesn’t happen with this

4.) Backpacking Friendly – Lightest full fly with doors I have ever owned! It weighs less than most of my flies without doors!

5.) Easy Setup

6.) Like all chill gorilla products, I’m sure they want you to use this with their hammock BUT it is designed to be large enough to work with any hammock on the market.. Have a Bear Butt? And ENO? How about Grand Trunk? How about Kammock? I have them all and this works with them all! Even my long hammocks! (Although most of my long hammocks are made by chill gorilla! They have a thing with size and that’s a good thing! )

7.) Top Not Quality

8.) Excellent Support – I have never had a quality issue with a Chill Gorilla product but they have always been there to answer and and all questions I have! They will also listen to you if you have suggestions and ideas for their products!

9.) No issues with it leaking! I had rain when I used it this weekend and was very dry

Overall: I am very impressed with this fly and this will be my main fly this fall! I already have 3 or 4 trips over the next month or so planned for it.. I will be sure to update with photos and how it’s performing over the next few weeks! One trip in and I’m sold and impressed! My Warbonnet will probably end up for sale this week because I have no need for it anymore

Tips: Chill Gorilla stuff goes out of stock a lot so grab it when you see it! You will be happy! I have missed stuff from them I wanted so I the to buy right when it’s listed!

CHILL GORILLA 12 kN WIREGATE CARABINERS Heavy Duty Lightweight Aircraft Grade Aluminum Alloy for Camping, Hammocks, Hiking, Backpacking & Key Chains. Black [Essential Camping and Survival Gear]

Short Review: Photos don’t do these justice.. You really cant see how much better these are until you hold them in hand.. Once you hold them you will feel the quality difference.. They beat even the standard free ENO wiregate biners that come on the ENO hammocks.. (Maybe not the ENO deluxe wiregate, I don’t own those so IDK.. I do know I will not pay $8/Biner $16 total for the deluxe ENO version though.. Especially when I can get a whole set for $10 here!!)

I purchased these because I hate “Standard” biners that are on hammocks.. The heavy steel ones.. They pick at straps, they are heavy, and in general, they are hard to use.. ENO uses Wiregate now.. Bear Butt doesn’t but they offer some which I purchased for my Bear Butt Hammocks.. Most other hammock companies offer these as an ADD-ON so I was FINALLY glad to see Chill Gorilla has came out with their own! I can now take my generic wiregate biners off my Chill Gorilla hammock and replace with these!

Like I said, these are AMAZING!! Putting these beside my other wiregate biners, I can 100% say, these kill all of them in QUALITY!! and only $10? What’s not to like about them!!

Pros
1.) Branded – I am not really a gear snob, but I do try and match brands.. So I love the fact that I can now use Chill Gorilla wiregates on my Chill Gorilla hammock set

2.) VERY SIMPLE and easy to use!

3.) No springs to break like on steel biners! Not saying springs normally break BUT I have had some fail in the past

4.) Doesn’t pick or damage straps (Steel biners are sometimes sharp and pick at straps)

5.) EVERY OUNCE COUNTS!! Cutting ounces on hammocks is hard! The easiest way to do it is with the carabiners!! These save weight!

6.) Wonderful Value

7.) Multi-Use – I use these biners on my Goal Zero solar panels, the Nomad 100 is fairly heavy so I don’t trust it with the cheap 15 pound biners that come with it (The panel weighs right over 10 pounds).. Use them for keys!! Use them for pretty much anything other than climbing! (With climbing, I would trust these to hold my gear onto my packs though so I guess you can use them for PART of climbing)

8.) These are rated for A LOT more weight than any of my other biners (Over 2500LBS each).. The only biner designed for hammocks that is rated for more are the expensive ENO Wiregate Deluxe.. Again, who wants to pay for those though? Who needs more than 2500LBS for hammocks and anything other than climbing? Exactly, so why spend more money on the ENO Deluxe!

Overall: I highly recommend these for your Chill Gorilla hammock or for any hammock that has heavy steel biners

Chill Gorilla Defender 11′ Bug Net. Compact, Lightweight. Fits ALL Camping Hammocks. [Essential Camping and Survival Gear]

Short Review:  Those that follow my reviews, or those that are shopping for hammocks and hammock gear may have seen my reviews.. I have 5 brands I REALLY LOVE!! Chill Gorilla, Bear Butt, ENO, Kammok, and Grand Trunk (Although I am not really into Grand Trunk as much as I used to be).  Anyways, with that being said they are all GREAT BRANDS but all have something that stand them apart.. Chill Gorillas difference is their size!!  This big net is not only LONGER than ENO and Bear Butt, but it is also much roomier giving you plenty of space inside the net..  The vertical zipper is actually MUCH easier to use, and the materials of the Chill Gorilla seem to be just as good, if not better than ENO!!

Pros
1.) LONG –  I have longer hammocks that don’t fit as well in ENO and Bear Butt bug nets due to their length.. This net is at least a foot longer than most making it fit better around long hammocks..  Please note, it fits just as well around the shorter hammocks such as ENO as it does long!

2.) Vertical Zipper – The Vertical zipper is actually very nice.. I took my hammock out this weekend to and tried out the bug net and found it much easier to get into the hammock with the vertical zipper.. BUT THE BEST PART, its much easier to ZIP and CLOSE the bug net..  Those that hammock camp know it takes a few minutes to get situated in your hammock..  It then sucks when you realize you have to uncover and reach to the FOOT of the hammock to grab the zipper of the bug net and close it.. Not with the vertical zipper!!  It’s actually very genius!

3.) Great Quality – Built just as good, if not better than ENO.. Quality is GREAT

4.) Easy to Pack

5.) Fits MOST hammocks – Should fit short hammocks just fine.. I checked it with Bear Butt, ENO, and Kammok and had no issues with fit.. It fits and worked wonderfully well.. Being longer, it also fits longer hammocks GREAT such as the longer Chill Gorilla Hammocks!!  I am sure Chill Gorilla would rather you use this with their branded hammocks but just know, it will work fine with ENO and other brands!! (WINK WINK, I do recommend Chill Gorilla Hammocks a lot though, especially if you need a budget hammock that is GREAT quality)

6.) Net closes NICE and tightly around your straps keeping bugs out!

7.) Backpacker Friendly – Even though the net is a little larger than most, it weighs nearly the same as other brands if not lighter!!  Very friendly for backpacking

8.) Includes Paracord for setup! YES PARACORD!! not that cheap NYLON junk other brands include

Overall: Excellent bug net!! I recommend this to ANYONE
