BittBoy Portable Video Game Handheld Device | Retro Games Included

Short Review (Summary): Great little NES emulation device and the few games you will play are great.. Screen is good and it serves its purpose.. If this was only twenty or so dollars it would be a five star device. BittBoy is lucky I am only knocking 1 star bc BittBoy is not completely truthful when it comes to describing this product. However, the product is fun, it works, and I am enjoying it so I am giving it 4 stars.. With that being said it brings me to my cons first

Cons
1.) Not all games are in English – Description says ALL Games are in English but I have found several that aren’t.

2.) Mine arrived with scratched screen.. I have seen this in several other reviews

3.) I would bet to say around 75 percent of the games are homebrew or games you would never play..

4.) Price – It’s way overpriced!! Quality Control isn’t there, my faceplate is off-center.. Scratches on the screen.. I would be happy if this was $20 but its not

Pros
1.) Rechargeable – No need to carry around batteries!

2.) 300 Games – Mine IS THE 300 game version but like my cons, over 75% will never be played

3.) Great SCREEN (Aside from the scratches)

4.) Volume is decent

5.) Buttons actually feel GREAT in hand!!

6.) Decent battery life

7.) Includes popular Marios, Chip N Dale, Contra, Excitebike and more

8.) Includes fake marios, some which I have found decently fun

9.) Overall it is fun!! I am enjoying my time playing it

10.) Good size! I know some folks complain its small but I like the size

Tips
1.) Cant save games but most NES games couldn’t be saved anyways! Just something to remember

2.) Use a Credit Card to buy and not PayPal.. As you can see from my review and other reviews, bittboy isn’t 100% honest.. At one time they were shipping units with under 200 games on them. With a credit card you can do a chargeback if they don’t honor their side of the purchase

Overall: I am hesitant to give this 4 stars but I do enjoy playing it and I am having fun with it.. Meaning to me, it is a 4 star product.. Bittboy has a great idea and a great start on something here but they need to step up their game and be a little more transparent about their device. All in all though, I know I am harsh on this device but overall it is fun and does emulate very well.

Sonic Mania: Collector’s Edition – Nintendo Switch

Short Review (Summary): I had some gift cards so I decided to get the Collectors Edition of this game.. The included statue is neat, but not sure I would of purchased it at full price even though it is “Limited”.. They could of done a lot better with the statue as it does look and feel cheap.. Essentially the statue cost $50 so I was a little surprised at the quality.. Other than that, my statue was delivered fine and has no issues.

Game: This is a throwback to the Genesis sonic games.. Its fun, graphics are old school, sonic is FAST, and the game is addictive.. The download code worked great without any issues. Having a blast with it so far

Multiplayer: This is multiplayer and multiplayer is fun.. If you are tails its fun trying to keep up with sonic.. I usually get lost and the person playing sonic runs ahead of me.. So this is CLASSIC platforming multiplayer, not the new stuff that keeps you tethered together.. It also has the split screen races which are a blast!!!

Nintendo Switch Bug: One thing about Sonic games (Or Sega games in general) they are usually a little buggy on release.. Nothing major in this game BUT the “Home Button” bug I am sure some of you have read about is true.. Their is a delay after your press it before the game actually stops.. Why? Who knows, something you have to learn to live with if you like Sega Games.. not a deal breaker or game killer though

Overall: Simple old school fun!! The statue is a must if you are a collector but can be done without if you aren’t.. I’m not a collector and this was my first “Collectors Edition” game so its has kind of left me feeling let down.. Maybe I will take a risk on another collectors game in the future but Sonic Mania is still worth a play!

Steam Link

I got this for $15 during the Steam Summer sale and it is well worth that! I only have access to setting this up via a WiFi connection, and while that is not ideal for all games, it is working fine on the games I am using it for.. Keep in mind, this does NOT run games.. it streams them from your computer! If your computer is slow with games, this probably won’t work very well..

I am using it to play the following games and types of games without any issues

1.) Older PC games
2.) Graphic Novels (Anime, Life is Strange, that type of stuff)
3.) Older XBox Games (Fabel Anniversary, Half Life, Games like that)

For those games it works GREAT over WiFi! I am also playing some newer games with it, without any issues but I do turn graphics down on those games so it streams better..

I also have it set at 720P which helps streaming over WiFi

Keep in mind, I am using a very high quality 5ghz router which helps the streaming significantly..

Pros
1.) Very easy setup! Basically, when I plugged it in, and sign into my network it found my games and my computer.. super easy!

2.) Works very well with the steam controller!

3.) Includes everything you need (HDMI, Cat5, Power Adapter)

4.) Works well with steam controller and Bluetooth controller’s (keep in mind, a controller is not included)

Tips
1.) Some games on steam aren’t designed to use with controllers.. I find those games sometimes have issues using steam link.. basically I lost sync with my controller at times.. This doesn’t happen on games that are designed to work with controllers

2.) While a wired network is probably best, a high quality wireless network works fine on most games

Overall: I never wanted to pay full price for this, knowing I didn’t have good access to a wired network, but for the price I paid, I am very happy with it! It’s working well for my needs, my games, and my setup.. With that being said, knowing it works for me, I’d happily pay full price for this.
