Fossil Gen 2 Smartwatch – Q Marshal Brown Leather

Short Review (Summary): With the Gen 3 Fossil Watches coming out, that is leaving some pretty good deals on the Gen 2!! I decided to pick this up, even though I already own better and new Android Wear Watches.. For the price, this is a steal!! The watch looks VERY NICE and it doesn’t look geeky or anything.. It looks like a Fossil, and stands out!! Quality is excellent! Features are great! The THICK leather band is very masculine!

Pros
1.) Design – Designed to look like a fossil, not an Android Wear

2.) Good Battery Life – You read mixed things about battery on these watches.. Don’t leave your screen on all the time and you should get 2 days out of a charge!! Right now, after 8 hours of wearing and tons of notifications I have 52% battery left.. Leave the screen on all the time and you MIGHT get 8 hours total.. This happens on all ANDROID WEAR watches I have owned

3.) Great for fitness

4.) Wireless Charging – This has both pros and cons.. The pros are, you don’t have to line the watch up with special connectors like I do my Huawei Wear watches. Also, and wireless charger should charge it! I can even charge it in my car!! Cons (See below)

5.) Thick, masculine band!

6.) Plenty of watch faces

7.) Quickly upgraded to Android Wear 2.0

8.) Bright BIG beautiful Screen!

Cons
1.) No NFC – COME ON FOSSIL!! I love android pay on my watch!!

2.) Preinstalled screen protector wasn’t straight

3.) Wireless charging is slower than my Huawei watch that DOESN’T use wireless charging

Overall: For the price I am VERY VERY happy with this watch!! Everything looks and WORKS GREAT on it!! I recommend it to anyone wanting to save some cash

Steam Link

I got this for $15 during the Steam Summer sale and it is well worth that! I only have access to setting this up via a WiFi connection, and while that is not ideal for all games, it is working fine on the games I am using it for.. Keep in mind, this does NOT run games.. it streams them from your computer! If your computer is slow with games, this probably won’t work very well..

I am using it to play the following games and types of games without any issues

1.) Older PC games
2.) Graphic Novels (Anime, Life is Strange, that type of stuff)
3.) Older XBox Games (Fabel Anniversary, Half Life, Games like that)

For those games it works GREAT over WiFi! I am also playing some newer games with it, without any issues but I do turn graphics down on those games so it streams better..

I also have it set at 720P which helps streaming over WiFi

Keep in mind, I am using a very high quality 5ghz router which helps the streaming significantly..

Pros
1.) Very easy setup! Basically, when I plugged it in, and sign into my network it found my games and my computer.. super easy!

2.) Works very well with the steam controller!

3.) Includes everything you need (HDMI, Cat5, Power Adapter)

4.) Works well with steam controller and Bluetooth controller’s (keep in mind, a controller is not included)

Tips
1.) Some games on steam aren’t designed to use with controllers.. I find those games sometimes have issues using steam link.. basically I lost sync with my controller at times.. This doesn’t happen on games that are designed to work with controllers

2.) While a wired network is probably best, a high quality wireless network works fine on most games

Overall: I never wanted to pay full price for this, knowing I didn’t have good access to a wired network, but for the price I paid, I am very happy with it! It’s working well for my needs, my games, and my setup.. With that being said, knowing it works for me, I’d happily pay full price for this.
